OUTAGE – A Take Action Film

How can you show that IBM Mobile helps make decisions better, faster and easier and demonstrate this to a hybrid audience?

People don’t watch product demos, but they watch action thrillers. So, we placed viewers in the driver’s seat in an interactive film, directed by Brad Turner of 24, to make mission critical decisions to drive the story forward at the event and online.

 
 

OUTAGE – Event Experience

 
 
 

Launched at Mobile World Congress, we simulated a citywide blackout and left the fates of millions in the hands of one person— the viewer.

OUTAGE is an interactive film experience that lets audience members locate issues, evacuate personnel, connect to experts and more, by making critical choices that drive the action.

With each decision the viewer made, the characters deployed real IBM technology to fix problems or avoid danger.

Results:

OUTAGE sparked IBM’s most successful MWC ever — and gave conference attendees a “product demo” unlike anything they’d seen before.
